Twelfth Night

Unity Temple Choir seeks opportunities to connect with other faith community ensembles. The annual Twelfth Night Concert includes five Oak Park area congregations who take turns hosting the concert each year. With the goal of strengthening each other’s programs, our collective performance includes a final festival number with the combined choirs, conducted by a different conductor each year.

Spring Music Festival

UTUUC proudly produces an annual concert featuring music-loving members of the congregation. The event showcases a breathtaking variety of vocal and instrumental talent. Proceeds from this event provide funding for the Unity Temple Vocal Music Scholarship Competition and the music program.

Choir Sunday

The Unity Temple Choir performs a major choral work biannually during services. Each special concert level work is done in collaboration with chamber ensembles and professional soloists. Guest conductors are invited to work with the choir during a preparatory retreat.

Schubert Festival

Austrian composer Franz Peter Schubert (1797-1828) lived a brief but musically prolific life. His compositions continue to be among the most admired and performed in the world. The Schubert Festival, a time-honored tradition designed to celebrate his music, is planned on a biennial basis in the newly restored Unity Temple, recently named a UNESCO world heritage site.

Professional musicians from the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Lyric Opera Orchestra perform along with world-renowned concert artists. The multi-recital festival format features the timeless splendor of this composer’s works through song recitals and chamber works. Viennese-themed refreshments and dinner are offered between afternoon and evening recitals. Learn more on the Schubert Festival website.
