Become a “text pal”!

Have you thought about being a prison pen pal but don’t like to write letters? Then consider becoming a “text pal”. Text Pals correspond using an easy text app only. The cost is 15 cents per message (2000 characters, approximately one page). Correspondences can be supplemented by optional phone calls or video visits, snail mailed cards and occasional notes are OK too!

Benefits:

• Doing a good deed, bringing hope and friendship to someone lonely & incarcerated
• Learn about our carceral system by becoming better informed to support change
• Strengthen the reach of the UU Prison Ministry of Illinois, joining our robust network of volunteers
