Productive Conversations about Race: A Workshop
Conversations about race within a faith community are nurtured by shared frames of reference, common goals, openness to new approaches and a touch of humor. Two people, one black and one white, will walk us through an exploration of attitudes, stereotypes, white privilege and micro-aggression. We will compare our stories, acknowledge the implications and then consider our goals of caring for each other and the world around us.
Judy Stigger is a local therapist often serving transracial adoptive families, a published author, and a national workshop speaker.
Nichelle Stigger is a local educator, who has led her Oak Park congregation in responding to the challenge of race, and is a presenter for the Community of Congregations’ discussion on race.
This will take place on Sunday, March 12 from 1-3. Register at email@example.com
