People's Climate March

What:  PEOPLE’S CLIMATE VIGIL AND MARCH IN CHICAGO

When:  Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Time:  The Vigil begins at 5:00 p.m. with reflection on the need for climate justice and the role each of us plays in this movement. The march begins directly after the vigil. We will go throughout the West Loop and Loop ending up at the Thompson Center.

Where:  Old St. Pat’s Church at 700 W Adams Street, Chicago, IL

Why:  Last year 400,000 people showed collective power in New York City at the People’s Climate March.  This year we are bringing this energy to our local communities to highlight the importance of citizens urging leaders for clean air, clean water, clean energy, clean jobs, and a just and healthy planet.

Who:  This event is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Action Network of Illinois (UUANI or You and I), Faith in Place, Sierra Club, Union of Concerned Scientists, Archdiocese of Chicago, Jobs with Justice, and numerous labor unions and other groups.
