Movies with Meaning: The Reader

"... And action!" After a two-month hiatus, Movies with Meaning is back. This month we'll see The Reader (2008, Rated R), about a German student who has a summer fling with an older woman who loves to have him read aloud to her. In the aftermath of World War II, each acts in ways that provoke concern and remorse for many years to come. Kate Winslet won both the Oscar and Golden Globe for best actress for her remarkable performance. Ralph Fiennes also stars.

Movies with Meaning is an opportunity to gather and watch contemporary films that engage our hearts and minds. Each viewing is followed immediately with a thought-provoking conversation of the film. Takes place at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the Unity House West Balcony.  Questions? Contact the office or Scott Talbot Lewis.
